This test also proved that helicopter pilots mostly have balls the size of church bells and coordination like few other people on Earth.

The video shows both the view from the outside of the chopper on the landing pad and from the cockpit of the helicopter itself. We’re not sure which is wilder but we know that we had some pucker factor when the camera view switches to the interior perspective because it seems completely impossible that the pilot could properly determine where the landing pad actually is beneath his vehicle. The guy does manage to put the thing down after the ship tilts and drops and rises many, many feet at a time.

I know a couple of helicopter pilots and one of them was a military flyer (I’m looking at YOU Turk!). This raised my respect level for these guys even higher. It is one thing to successfully fly and land a helicopter on terra firma, but to do it in conditions like this? Let’s hope the guy got a raise or at least some hazard pay!
