Molecular aspects of cell, tissue and gene therapies

An online course offered by the National ATMP Research School - 1.5 credits

The course offered by Lund University will address the methods and processes required for the development of a new advanced drug with a focus on preclinical discovery and development. Furthermore, the course will address the scientific, strategic and ethical challenges that exist in ATMP and include methods and terminology.

Course Design:

The course is given at half time digitally. Some days are scheduled for joint activities, the rest of the time you work individually or at agreed times in groups. Participants take part in pre-recorded lectures given by area experts mainly from Lund Stem Cell Centre, Lund University.

The lectures are followed by group activity in the form of TBL which is evaluated with an MCQ test. Students are expected to act professionally and, as in a future work situation, participate constructively in all group activities.

In the course, a group task is carried out where students write a project plan for the development of a new advanced drug. The groups' proposals are presented orally and each participant then writes an individual report (1-2 pages) on the group's idea. The report should include a reflection on their own work and on the feedback received.
