Samsung has refreshed its laptop lineup for this year. A few weeks ago, the company unveiled the Galaxy Book 4 series, which consists of the Galaxy Book 4 Pro, Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, and the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra. All three laptops have received bumped-up specifications and some new features. We finally had a chance to use them in person at Samsung's booth at CES 2024 in Las Vegas last week.

Galaxy Book 4 Pro, Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, and Galaxy Book 4 Ultra hands-on video

While all three new laptops from Samsung use Intel's Core Ultra processors, only the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra gets to use dedicated Nvidia RTX 4000 series GPUs. The Galaxy Book 4 Pro and the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 use Intel's Arc graphics. The Galaxy Book 4 Pro comes in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, while the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 only comes in a 16-inch version and comes with a bundled S Pen stylus. They both feature OLED touchscreen panels with 2,880 x 1,800 pixels resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits of peak brightness, and a 48-120Hz variable refresh rate. Have a look at them up close in our hands-on video below.

Samsung still hasn't used a centered trackpad for its 16-inch laptops in the Galaxy Book 4 lineup, and that's our biggest gripe with the newer models. The company did improve performance with the help of Intel's more power-efficient Core Ultra lineup of processors. The Galaxy Book 4 Pro and the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 get Intel's Core Ultra 5/Ultra 7 processors, while the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra features Intel's Core Ultra 7/Ultra 9 chips.

Samsung has upped max RAM to 64GB (starting from 16GB) and storage to 2TB (starting from 512GB) on the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra. The Galaxy Book 4 and the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 have 16GB/32GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage, and an additional PCIe NVMe SSD slot.

All three laptops have received the HDMI 2.1 port, featuring 8K 60Hz or 5K 120Hz video out. They all have a 2MP webcam, backlit keyboard, huge Windows Precision glass trackpads, studio-quality dual-microphone setups, a microSD card slot, and AKG-tuned quad-speaker setups (two 5W woofers + two 2W tweeters). These new laptops also feature Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone + microphone combo jack.

The 14-inch laptops in the lineup are powered by a 63Whr battery, while the 16-inch ones have a 76Whr battery. The Galaxy Book 4 Pro and the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 have a 65W USB Type-C charger, while the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra has a 140W USB Type-C charger. All of them run Windows 11 Home, of course, and get exclusive features like Windows Copilot integration with the Messages app on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, offering AI-powered summaries of messages and reply suggestions. They can also use cameras on select Galaxy smartphones as webcams.

These new laptops are already available for purchase in South Korea, and they will soon be available in other markets.
