The Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) has hosted a collaborative stakeholder workshop regarding the draft guidelines on the computation of Workers’ Compensation, in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.

The event, attended by labour officers from the western region, was held at Acacia Hotel in Mbarara.

Workers’ compensation insurance offers significant benefits to companies, shielding them from potential lawsuits by employees for workplace negligence.

This insurance ensures that employees receive compensation promptly, thereby averting lengthy legal battles should any cases of accident arise.

Active participation in workers’ compensation initiatives is vital for increasing awareness of insurance benefits and bridging gaps in policy implementation and adoption.
