Washington — OSHA has scheduled a virtual public meeting for June 23 in advance of the 40th session of the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.

According to a notice published in the May 20 Federal Register, OSHA and the U.S. Interagency GHS Coordinating Group are seeking information and comments as the federal government prepares for the UNSCEGHS conference, set for July 5-7 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The public meeting is slated for 1 p.m. Eastern at Department of Transportation headquarters.

Additionally, OSHA expects to give an update on the Regulatory Cooperation Council. Beforehand, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration will host a virtual public meeting at 9 a.m. Eastern, also at DOT headquarters, to prepare for the 58th session of the United Nations Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, set for June 28 to July 2 in Geneva.

PHMSA is requesting comments relative to potential new work items that may be considered for inclusion in its international agenda. The agency will also provide an update on recent actions to enhance transparency and stakeholder interaction via revisions to the international standards portion of its website.

Comments must be submitted by June 25.
