5,961 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary in the last four days

101 people passed away in the last four days due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,403,425.

The total number of vaccinated people is 6,403,425, of which 6,188,501 have already received their second dose and 3,848,282 and 267,472 have received their third dose and fourth dose, respectively.

A total of 5,961 new infections have been confirmed in the last four days, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,860,159. The 101 deaths in the last four days were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 45,611. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands at 1,717,268, while the number of active infected people is 97,280. 1,833 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 49 are on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 11,158,930 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.

The government has lifted mask mandates and phased out most coronavirus-related measures. The special legal order will remain in place to enable swift government action should a sixth wave of the pandemic hit the country.
