In today's Podcast, Embark on a journey where "No" becomes "Yes" and setbacks pave the way for new opportunities. Meet Leigh Mason and Maxwell Trent, individuals whose lives were transformed by pivotal moments of realization, known as Mindflip moments.


Leigh's migration journey to Australia was a Mindflip moment, realizing that sometimes a "No" is a "Yes" elsewhere. It ignited her pursuit of new beginnings. Similarly, Maxwell's transformation into a firefighter was his Mindflip moment, teaching him to relentlessly chase dreams. Both learned that every setback is a gateway to a greater opportunity.


Maxwell Trent is a Firefighter, Author and Co-founder and Director of the Live Learn Survive charity but you may recognize him as 'Lifeguard Maxi', the youngest ever Professional Lifeguard to work at Bondi Beach, his 17-year career being well documented on award winning TV show Bondi Rescue, airing in over 100 countries globally.

In 2016 Trent became a Firefighter for NSW Fire + Rescue, now a Qualified Rescue Operator and Senior Firefighter he is part of the rescue team based at Bankstown Fire Station in Sydney, this means he is either working on the busiest beach or at one of the busiest Rescue Fire Stations in Australia.


Leigh Mason is the co- founder, Chairperson and driving force behind Live Learn Survive which in 2022 became a registered charity recognized by the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission with a vision to further education for children. Co-Author of Maxi's Beach Rescue picture book and co-host of the Live Learn Survive podcast Leigh with Maxi. Leigh is also an experienced business manager and consultant and brings a wealth of business experience to the charity.


Together in 2016 they founded Live Learn Survive and to date have educated face to face over 30,000 children in 6 countries across more than 70 cities with life skills to help them survive their worst day, they have worked with over 100 schools and children's clubs and organizations.

Nick Bracks has dedicated his entire adult life to de-stigmatising mental illness through storytelling.

Growing up in one of the most famous political families in Australia, Nick was exposed to life in the public eye since he was 12 years old. Struggling to cope with depression and anxiety through substance abuse, Nick first gained his notoriety in his early 20s through a publicly documented car crash that nearly killed himself and his best friend.

The drunk driving incident became a catalyst for Nick to turn his life around, exposing his mental health issues and allowing him to get the help he desperately needed. The media attention he gained after the crash led to a modelling career and an invitation to participate as a contestant on “Dancing With The Stars”. While on Dancing With The Stars, Nick took the opportunity to speak publicly about his battle with depression and anxiety, becoming a pioneer in mental health advocacy.

Since then, Nick has developed a successful public speaking career on the topic, conducting over 1,000 talks at organisations around the world, including several TED talks. The “Neighbours'' actor is also a successful entrepreneur, founding Move Your Mind – a corporate wellness software for employees in construction and similar industries. Nick released his first book with publisher Wiley in 2021 and currently runs a podcast under the same name  – Move Your Mind.
