When I first started speaking, my coach asked me one simple question. Why did I want to speak? I fumbled around for an answer. I wanted to tell my story. I wanted to share my life experiences and help motivate people to go for their dreams. He said, that is nice, but that is not answering the question. Puzzled by his response, I reworded my answer. He again said nicely, that is not deep enough. Clarity hit me! I want to help people get off of the bench and into the starting lineup of life. You are not really going to win the game if you cannot contribute. You cannot win if you do not participate and you will not win sitting on the sideline as a spectator. You must be a participant. My Coach's exact words were, now shorten your plan into a phrase. I had my Ah-ha moment and blurted out my new philosophy. My goal as a speaker, trainer, author, and coach is to help move you from the bench to the starting lineup of life. Even shorter, I want to help you Get off the Bench. This magazine has been created to be another resource of motivation for you to start, and stay on your journey to success.
