Practices to Attract, Retain, and Promote Women in Transportation – Meeting the Goal of 10% in 10 years Presented by MobilityXX and Iteris

What are best practices in hiring, supporting, retaining and empowering women in transportation? Are we really moving the needle to increase the number of women in our field? What are MobilityXX Pledge companies doing to increase the number of women in the transportation sector?

Mobility XX is partnering with Iteris to present a webinar to help answer these questions and engage participants in how we promote diversity and a more inclusive transportation system. MobilityXX, a partnership between the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, WTS International, and The Ray, is engaging the transportation industry to increase the number of women in transportation by 10% over the next 10 years. Join us to hear from female transportation leaders about their progress on the Pledge, the impact on their organizations, and discuss future efforts to meet the 10% goal.

2021 Women in the Workplace Report – McKinsey & Co. & MobilityXX Webinar

What do gender and racial diversity look like across industries in the U.S. and in transportation particularly? What has the impact of COVID-19 been on workers and what are considerations for how we return to the workplace? What practices can companies implement to accelerate women’s progress and create a workplace where women feel valued?

Despite important gains, women remain underrepresented in the workplace, even more so in leadership positions. Join us for a discussion with Kweilin Ellingrud of McKinsey & Company as she addresses these topics in our first event celebrating Women’s History Month. In this webinar, Kweilin will provide an overview of the latest 2021 Women in the Workplace Study and discuss research and findings as they relate to the transportation industry and the overall workforce.

Participants will learn about tools to empower women in the workplace, ask questions, and engage in discussions with industry leaders about promoting women’s advancement and equality.

MobilityXX Presents: 10% in 10 Years: Advancing Women in Transportation

Please join us as we hear from transportation leaders about why they are passionate about strengthening equity in transportation across the country, the critical technologies that must be deployed, and a new program that will help us reach our goal!

Empowering Women in Transportation

Transportation is a thread woven through all facets of our lives, tied to economic opportunity, access to health care, education, and other critical services. However, women face a wide range of disparities resulting from a system not designed for our mobility needs and travel patterns – a system in which consideration for our safety will impact our access to good travel choices and one where simply being a woman increases the cost of travel compared to men. Women comprise only 15% of the 14.8 million transportation workforce and even fewer are in executive and decision-making roles. In order to have transportation that effectively serves everyone’s needs, we must have a diverse leadership team at the table. MobilityXX, a partnership between ITS America, The Ray, and WTS Foundation, is dedicated to bringing awareness to these issues and to spark change within the transportation industry.

The speakers will be:

  • Sara Stickler, Executive Director, WTS International

  • Laura Chace, Chief Operating Officer, Intelligent Transportation Society of America

  • Allie Kelly, Executive Director, The Ray

Join the MobilityXX founders for a discussion on the vision and mission of the initiative, why it’s important, and how your organization can be a part of the solution.
