Workshops 2022: Keep Calm & Make Pysanky!

PysankyWorkshops 2022: I’m pleased to announce our next series of Pysanky workshops are coming up!

Nataliya of ‘Experience Ukraine and Beyond’ and I have been doing these workshops since 2016 – always 4 or 5 a year and always at least one for children.

While visiting the Transcarpathian area in south-western Ukraine, Lviv and Kyiv in 2015 on one of Nataliya’s tours, we also went to the Pysanky museum in Kolomyia. We fell in love with what we saw – the artistry, the craftsmanship, the culture. And we were determined on our return to bring Pysanky-making to Herefordshire and beyond.

Since then, only one year have our workshops not happened. In 2020 we had to cancel due to covid lockdowns but in 2021, we relaunched our workshops on ZOOM. They were a great success. People joined us from Italy, France, USA, Ireland and cities throughout the UK and all from the comfort of their homes.

This year we’re back in person. Four workshops in various locations around Herefordshire and Gloucestershire and one online via ZOOM.

Do join us making these beautiful Pysanky using bees-wax resist to create the designs and all made traditionally in Ukraine to celebrate Spring, light and Easter! It’s an age-old tradition – Pysanky decorating for beginners with Nataliya and myself.
