Trying Facetheory Skincare For The First Time

I’m back with another skincare review and this time it’s all about Facetheory. I was recently sent three products from Facetheory to try out and they also gave me an exclusive 30% off discount code for my followers too, which I’ll talk more about later in the post. Their products are made in the UK and are 100% vegan, and cruelty-free and they’re also free of parabens, silicones, PEGs, SLS, SLES, and mineral oils. Here’s what I think about the products I’ve tried so far…

First up in my Facetheory review is the Clarifying Triple Action C2 Pro Cleanser with Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Lactic Acid RRP £15.99* which helps to gently exfoliate the skin. It’s suitable for combination and oily, blemish-prone skin types and there are two options available: Gently Scented with 100% cold-pressed Mandarin essential oil or Unscented. The cleanser is on the thicker side and only a small amount is required each use. Facetheory also advise you not to use the product if you’re under 18 or if you’re pregnant (Seek further advice from your doctor).

I was sent the Gently Scented version and it smells really nice, particularly first thing in the morning as it smells really refreshing and it kind of just wakes you up. I must admit when it comes to cleansers, I don’t know why, but I usually prefer a tube or a pump bottle because I find it easier. However the Facetheory Clarifying Cleanser is definitely effective, it makes your skin feels lovely and soft after each use and I do feel like it helps to get your skin under control if you’re struggling with blemishes and/or a lot of oiliness. I prefer to remove it with a hot muslin cloth/flannel as I feel like it works best with it being a thicker cleanser.

Next up is the serum I was sent which is the Porebright N10 Serum with 10% Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid RRP £15.99* which aims to even out skin tone, reduce pigmentation, redness and facial photoaging.

The active ingredients include Niacinamide which happens to be one of my favourite actives as I feel like it really works well with my skin, it also includes Hyaluronic Acid which helps to replenish and maintain the skins moisture balance, as well as Salicylic Acid which helps to gently exfoliate the skin and Azelaic Acid which is an anti-inflammatory and has antibacterial properties which can help reduce clogged pores and kill acne-causing bacteria.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t used this consistently enough to see any long-lasting results but it’s a nice lightweight serum, that sinks in fairly quickly and it doesn’t feel super sticky like some serums can. To use you just apply it to ‘problem areas’ before your moisturiser. I do think it helps to heal hormonal breakouts quicker and reduce overall breakouts but again, I can’t say for longterm as I’ve not been using it consistently enough and it’s definitely a serum you need to keep on top of using. However, another good thing about Facetheory is that they have lots of reviews on their products and the reviews for this serum sound really promising.

Left: Clarifying Triple Action C2 Pro Cleanser / Right: Bakuluronic Moisturiser

Lastly is the Bakuluronic Moisturiser with Bakuchiol, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C RRP £20.99* which is described as a lightweight day cream and like the Cleanser it’s available in two versions: Gently Scented and Unscented. The Bakuchiol present in the moisturiser can help with the signs of photoaging whilst Hyaluronic Acid helps to plump and hydrate the skin. It also contains Rice Starch which naturally absorbs oil which can help control shine and minimise pores as well as Shea Butter which soothes the skin and Argan oil which helps to nourish dry patches.

I’ve been really enjoying using this moisturiser, it’s lightweight as described and it’s ideal for someone with an oily/combination skin type as it sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave your skin feeling heavy or clogged. I feel like my skin looks fresher and plumper since I’ve been using it, which is most noticeable in the morning (I’ve been using it as both a day and night moisturiser).

As I mentioned in the intro, Facetheory have kindly given me an 30% off discount code to share with you which is valid on a £20+ spend. The code is ASTOLDBYKIRSTYA30 or you can click here.

They sell everything from skincare, bodycare and even makeup! They also have gift sets available and minis of some of their products too. I’ve already got my eyes on their Pink Clay AHA Face Mask RRP £12.99, Glycolic Acid Face and Body Scrub RRP £10.99 and their Blusher in Soft Baby Pink RRP £12.99 which reminds me of the Glossier Cloud Paints a little.

Have you tried anything from Facetheory before? If so, what product(s) have you tried? If not, are you planning on trying their products after reading my review?

  1. Ahh I love Facetheory! I have a shelf full in my bathroom. I really need to get on their PR haha. I love this moisturiser, it's my go to on a morning as it makes me feel super fresh. Their vitamin C cleanser is my go to as well. I've not tried this one because I can't not buy the vitamin C one. It's like it's got a hold on me. Haha. I'd recommend the pink clay mask too. The scrub is nice too although I have to say for the £ I'd say there were better alternatives out there.

  5. Obsessed with skincare at the moment, it’s throwing me off that the cleanser is in a jar and not a bottle like you said with a pump haha! Definitely going to check this brand out :)
