Soroti City West Member of Parliament  Jonathan Ebwalu has locked the office of the Soroti Regional Hospital administrator over failure to answer his questions relating to the lack of oxygen and power in the children's ward.

Ebwalu, who alleges that the hospital's management is failing to run the medical facility, claims that over 10 people have died in the past week due to the lack of oxygen.

Dr Ben Watmon, the hospital director, is accused by the MP of not being in office.

Ebwalu has vowed to leave the facility only after Watmon turns up.

By the time of filing this story, Watmon was not at his office and the MP was patiently waiting for him at the hospital's verandah.

Ebwalu is also disappointed that the hospital has been attacked by bed bugs, which, according to him, the facility's administration has not addressed.

The patients, especially those in the children’s ward, voiced their challenges to the visiting MP noting that they sleep on the floor due to a lack of beds. They also said there is a challenge of lack of drugs among other challenges.

This is a developing story.
