13,261 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary over the weekend

233 people passed away during the weekend due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,389,336.

The total number of vaccinated people is 6,389,336, of which 6,156,649 have already received their second dose and 3,791,546 have received their third dose.

A total of 13,261 new infections have been confirmed in the last three days, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,759,685. The 233 deaths in the last three days were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 43,299. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands at 1,526,826, while the number of active infected people is 189,560. 4,741 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 176 are on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 10,662,822 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.

The fourth dose of the COVID-vaccine is now available, and the quarantine period has been shortened to 7 days. Immunity certificates of those having two vaccinations will be valid for an extended period, until 1 May, in line with the practice of other EU countries.
