Rawle Brancker passes away at 83

Businessman Rawle Cecil Brancker passed away at home on Tuesday morning. He was 83 years old.

He was best known as the face of Brancker’s on Fontabelle, the store he founded in 1974 and served as chairman for several decades.

Brancker was also a co-founder and Executive Chairman of Barbados Lumber Company.

Cricket played a key role in his life.

He was a long-time member of Empire Cricket Club, having joined as a 12-year-old schoolboy at Combermere School. He was later named an honorary vice president and trustee of the club.

From Empire, Brancker played cricket for Barbados and toured England in 1966 with the West Indies. He was a left arm batsman/bowler.

He was also a former chairman of Cricket World Cup 2007

Brancker leaves to mourn his wife Roxanne and sons Adrian and Jason. Daughter Carolanne pre-deceased him in 2014. (SAT)
