Why a company’s diversity matters

Companies have stepped up their efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) over the past several years, but some are farther ahead than others. Job seekers should do their homework to make sure their potential employers are truly committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. Studies and analyses consistently show companies with diverse workforces perform better. LinkedIn members offered suggestions in the latest edition of #GetHired for job seekers trying to examine a company’s DEI efforts. They suggest:
• Look to see if the company’s leadership is diverse.
• Dig into the company’s LinkedIn page and career website.
• Connect with people in the company to find out about employee life.
• Ask about the company’s DEI efforts during interviews.
