Business Development Manager - Stockton-On-Tees

upto £35k basic, upto £60k OTE - Perm - Renewable Energy

A local business specialising in all aspects of renewable energy installations are looking to expand their team by employing a Business Development Manager. You will be prospecting private building contractors, architects, and self-build developers. A range of benefits will include a quarterly bonus, a company vehicle or mileage allowance and 28 days holiday including bank holidays.

As a Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Increasing the company turnover by generating new customers, predominately in the B2C market along with a small element of B2B.
  • Improving the conversion rates of sales leads provided. 
  • Improving customer relations.
  • Increasing the profitability of the organisation.
  • Conducting appointments, acting as a consultant to advise on the best solutions for the customer and property.
  • Meeting KPIs that will be mutually set and agreed.
  • Calculating quotations using templates provided.
  • Creating electronic proposals using the software provided.
  • Conducting frequent follow-up calls and meetings to convert to a sale or reject. 
  • Maintaining the CRM system with all communications and setting follow up tasks.  
  • Forecasting monthly, quarterly and annual sales across each business stream and department. 
  • Meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who has the following skills and experiences:

  • A background in Renewable energy or fossil fuel heating sectors across domestic markets.
  • Previous experience in a sales or BDM role.
  • Technically strong-minded.
  • Very proactive to achieve results with the ability to build solid relationships with architects and contractors.
  • Technical knowledge of heat pumps and solar panels is advantageous.
  • Tenacious, self-motivated, and eager to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a team and integrate into the company culture.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and personable with strong ethical values.

In return, a Business Development Manager will receive a salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience and expertise, a quarterly bonus and an OTE of £50,000 - £60,000.
