Bad reviews from critics have not stopped The CW's Gotham Knights from becoming one of the most in-demand shows in the United States.

Per The Wrap, for the week of March 11 - 17, 2023, Gotham Knights had a strong premiere as one of the United States' most in-demand breakout series, ranking with 16.9 times the average series' demand. This is a massive 146-percent increase since the show's premiere aired March 14, and the data comes from Parrot Analytics, which takes into account consumer research, streaming, downloads and social media, among other engagement. Despite taking last place for the week's Top 10 in-demand series, including shows like HBO's The Last of Us, Gotham Knights' 16.9 multiplier was still enough to land within the chart's "Outstanding" category.

Despite premiering back on Jan. 15, 2023, The Last of Us remained the most in-demand breakout series for the week of March 11 -17, with an "exceptional" 63.5 multiplier. Some of the other series to crack the week's Top 10 were the Yellowstone spinoff series 1923 (23.7x), Rian Johnson's murder mystery series Poker Face (23.7x), Apple TV+'s Jason Segel-led comedy drama Shrinking (22.6x) and the supernatural series Wolf Pack (20.2x).

What is Gotham Knights About?

Gotham Knights takes place in a timeline where Batman/Bruce Wayne's adopted son, Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan), is framed for killing the Dark Knight along with the Joker's daughter Duela Dent (Olivia Rose Keegan), and sibling runaways Harper (Fallon Smythe) and Cullen Row (Tyler DiChiara). The four reluctantly team up to prove their innocence, aided by Robin Carrie Kelley (Navia Robinson) and Stephanie Brown (Anna Lore), the latter known in DC Comics as the Batgirl "Spoiler."

The mystery of Batman's murder, which will unravel over a 13-episode first season, points to the Court of Owls being the true party responsible for the crime. The show has also suggested that the secret society -- made up of the wealthiest and most influential citizens of Gotham City -- orchestrated Thomas and Martha Wayne's murder, with Joe Chill (set to be played by Doug Bradley) merely being a hired gun that pulled the trigger.

Who Plays Who in The CW's Gotham Knights?

The Gotham Knights show was announced while WB Games Montréal and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's Gotham Knights video game was still in development, but the two projects have no relation to each other. Instead of the game's roster of heroes including Nightwing, Robin Tim Drake, Red Hood and Batgirl Barbara Gordon, The CW show also features actor Rahart Adams as Brody March and Supernatural alum Misha Collins as Gotham City's District Attorney Harvey Dent, AKA the Batman villain Two-Face. Actors Damon Dayoub and Lauren Stamile will recur throughout the first season as Brody's parents, Lincoln and Rebecca March, while Ethan Embry and Sunny Mabrey portray Stephanie's, Arthur Brown/Cluemaster and Crystal Brown, respectively.

New episodes of Gotham Knights air Tuesdays on The CW.
