Relief for Your Eyes & Neck

The Moontower Monitor Arm enables up to six monitors to be ergonomically positioned for increased comfort and productivity while working. Adjust the height, tilt, distance, and alignment (pdf) of screens to reduce stress on the neck, shoulders, and torso—and to keep eyes from straining to see a monitor that is too far away.

Distance: Place your monitor screen roughly an arm's length (fingertip reach) away. Positioning the screen too far away will cause you to have trouble seeing the monitor and your eyes will pull your head forward causing you to extend your neck; this often leads to neck, back, and shoulder discomfort.

Height (for 1, 2, or 3 Monitor Configurations): Make sure that the top line of your monitor is at or just below eye level. Tilting your head backward to read your screen leads to discomfort.

Height (for 4 or 6 Monitor Configurations): It's ideal to use the bottom row of monitors as your intensive use monitors and the top row of monitors primarily for referencing. Make sure that the top line of the bottom row of monitors is at or just below eye level. Orient the top row of monitors as low as possible without interfering with the bottom row.

Vertical Angle: Adjust the vertical screen angle to minimize glare from windows and other light sources.

Horizontal Angle: Regarding configurations with more than one monitor, for the monitors that are positioned not directly in front of you, adjust the horizontal angle so that they're more perpendicular to your perspective and less parallel to your desk.

Gain Space with Floating Monitors

The Single, Dual and Triple Moontower Monitor Arms can adjust 14.1" vertically along the 17.9" pole.

The Quad and Six Moontower Monitor Arms can adjust 26.3" vertically along the 30.1" pole and provides two rows of monitors. With your monitors raised above the desktop, valuable desktop real estate is reclaimed, contributing to enhanced productivity and comfort.

Primary Zone: Located approximately 15" to 17" from the user, this zone is best for items that are used most frequently (like a keyboard and mouse).

Secondary Zone: Located approximately 27" from the user, items placed here can be reached without leaning. It's a good space for a phone, beverage, notepads, reference materials, or calculator.

Tertiary Zone: The third zone stretches 42" to 45" from the user. It's a good space for lamps, sunglasses, or books.

Innovative Moontower Design

Fortified Base & Pole: All five monitor arm configurations use the same beefed up base and pole to provide a more secure and stable support for your monitors while also providing protection for your desktop.

Synchronized Heights: The Triple and Six Moontower Monitor Arms have a unique step design to keep all three monitors in the same plane across the row. Some competing arm designs require the center monitor to sit above or below the centerline of the outer two monitors. The Dual and Quad Moontower Monitor Arms keep each row of monitors at the same height.

Convenient Considerations

Adjustable Cable Management: Clips can be adjusted along the arms and pole to efficiently route cables and cords from the monitor to the computer providing a clean and organized aesthetic. The wire management clips along the pole are conveniently combined with an allen wrench holder for minor arm adjustments or monitor arm relocation.

Built-in Allen Wrench Holder: Holds the included allen wrenches for minor arm adjustments. Also handy if relocating the monitor arm in the future.

The optional Laptop Mount is ideal for laptop screen positioning. It adds all the benefits of a monitor arm to a laptop, such as positioning the laptop screen at eye level and at fingertip distance. The laptop is supported by the Laptop Mount's steel tray and securely held in place with a front lip, non-slip pads on the tray, and elastic straps. A ventilation cut out on the laptop platform provides airflow to the laptop.

Please note: The Swing Laptop Sit/Stand Workstation enables use of the laptop keyboard and mouse pad while positioning your laptop at an ergonomic sitting or standing height. Depending on how you use your laptop, the Swing Laptop Sit/Stand Workstation can be an improvement over pairing a monitor arm with a laptop mount because on the latter you must use an external keyboard and don't have the option of using the laptop keyboard.

Installation & Assembly

Choose from two included mounting options, both of which are compatible with desktop thicknesses ranging from 0.4-3.4":

  • The Clamp-On method clamps the monitor arm to the edge of the desktop or through the grommet holes in UPLIFT desks.
  • The Bolt-Through method attaches the monitor arm anywhere on the desktop or table using an existing hole (such as a grommet hole) or a new bolt hole.

The included VESA mounts are compatible with 75mm x 75mm and 100mm x 100mm VESA patterns. The optional 200mm x 100mm VESA plate adapter can be used for larger monitors that require that VESA pattern.

For monitors that use the 100mm x 100mm VESA pattern, there are quick-install slots on the VESA plate to assist in monitor installation. When attaching the monitor to the arm, partially insert the two top screws into the monitor, then lift the monitor and slide those two screws into the vesa plate slots. Then simply insert the lower two screws then tighten all four.

The Moontower Single, Dual, Triple and Quad Arms support monitors weighing up to 17.6 lb.

The Moontower Six Arm supports monitors up to 14.3 lb.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I use this arm with a desk that isn't an UPLIFT Desk?

Yes, this accessory is compatible with UPLIFT and non-UPLIFT desks, as long as the desktop is between 0.4" and 3.4" in thickness (for either the Clamp-On or Bolt-Through mounting method).

  2. How low and high can the monitor be positioned?

The lowest height the monitor can be placed depends on the overall height of the monitor you will use, the arm can be adjusted so that the monitor is touching the desktop. There is no limit with how high the arm can be placed on the pole, just ensure that the entire clamping mechanism is in contact with the pole.

    • Single, Dual, and Triple models can adjust 14.1" vertically along the 17.9" pole.
    • Quad and Six models can adjust 26.3" vertically along the 30.1" pole.
  3. Would I be able to face one set of arms forward, and one set backwards, so I could use them on a coworker's desk?

Yes, you can rotate the heads to face a desk behind or infront of the mount. However, we do not recommend extending monitors past the back edge of the desk as the base could become unstable.

  4. Can the monitor arms be locked, so that the monitor does not move if bumped?

The base should not move if installed properly but there is no way to lock the swivel of the arm joints. The monitor tilt adjustment can be tightened so that the angle will not change if bumped.

  5. How do I set up my monitors so that they are at the right height and depth for me?

  6. Does this monitor arm include a "quick-release VESA mount"?

No, the VESA mounts for the Moontower monitor arm are not "Quick Release".

However, there are quick-install slots on the VESA plate for monitors that use a 100mm x 100mm VESA pattern. Using the quick-install slots, when attaching the monitor to the arm, partially insert the two top screws into the monitor, then lift the monitor and slide those two screws into the vesa plate slots. Then simply insert the lower two screws then tighten all four.
