HBO Max has replaced the theatrical cut of 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with the film's "Ultimate Edition."

The official HBO Max Instagram account shared the news, stating, "The full 3-hour Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is now streaming exclusively on HBO Max. Put that long weekend to good use." The streaming service also added all four Christopher Reeve-led Superman films as well as 2006's Superman Returns.

The Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman offers 30 minutes of extra footage, including a longer scene set in Africa, a cameo from Justice League villain Steppenwolf, an appearance by The Daily Show's Jon Stewart and much more. Additionally, the film is available on 5.1 HD and is not rated on HBO Max.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice originally released in 2016 and introduced Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, while showing the return of Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent. Also, Gal Gadot made her first appearance as Wonder Woman near the end of Batman v Superman before starring in her own film, 2017's Wonder Woman.
