Story So Far – Silent Hero Andrew

Three things that the Silent Hero Award has done for me:

First: validation.
I received the award after 20 years of choosing to live right and do what is right in doing good even when it cost me or when no one else believed in what I did.

Second: affirmation.
Not that I seek approval, but the recognition encouraged me to keep on doing what I believed in.

Third: dedication.
The honor conferred on me was symbolic for me to dedicate my next 20 years to serve my fellow ex-offenders as a life mission. Since the award, I’ve been working with other ex-offenders to assemble an advocacy group to address employment discrimination towards ex-offenders.
