Everyone, everywhere should have affordable, clean energy
Over a billion people lack electricity. Hundreds of millions more live with unreliable or expensive power. Access to reliable, affordable energy improves health, education, food security, gender equality, livelihoods and poverty levels. Creating that access - while also positively impacting the environment - is our fundamental goal.
We founded New Fortress Energy with a simple but ambitious mission centered on sustainability. We want to reduce emissions and increase access to power across the world. Climate change is an existential threat that is already impacting our planet’s ecosystems and communities. At the same time, over a billion people still don’t have electricity and the vast majority of humans have limited or unreliable access. To address these challenges, we sought to bring more affordable and cleaner fuel to markets that have a growing need for reliable power and electricity.
"Energy access is central to nearly every major challenge and opportunity the world faces today." - United Nations
We couldn't agree more. We fully support the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and are excited and proud to do our part to make them a reality.

Protecting and preserving the environment
We’re committed to protecting and preserving the environment by providing cleaner energy solutions around the world. With every project, we’re helping to significantly reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency.
We’re creating critical access to affordable, cleaner energy where it’s needed most. From utilities to schools, we’re proud to bring our customers reliable energy that’s better for them and for the environment.
Whether by facilitating better, cleaner energy solutions and catalyzing economic growth, or through our foundation’s educational and philanthropic initiatives, we’re relentlessly committed to ensuring a positively better quality of life for our neighbors everywhere.
We envision a world in which everyone, everywhere has access to affordable, 100% green energy. That's why we've committed to reaching zero net carbon emissions – an audacious but necessary goal. We believe green (or renewable) hydrogen can get us there.
Emissions are based on management’s assumptions and percentage calculations regarding previous fuel consumption and future natural gas consumption along with data from IEA, C02 Emissions and Fuel Combustion Highlights – 2018, p. 147. Equivalent trees planted and cars off road are based on management’s estimate of emissions reduction based on the above, along with a calculator from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
