I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but appreciating the hard work of a good worker is important. Years ago a business owner I knew, decided to pay a “friend of a friend” more than one of his top producing employees. She eventually left that company because she knew that she could not count on her boss to be fair. After leaving, she brought in more business in one month for her new company, than her former company did in one year. She knew this, because her friends that remained at the previous company told her the details of how much business went down since she left. This made me think: When good workers are appreciated and feel valued, they stay and do their best work. If you don’t promote or reward hard working staff, they can eventually leave. This can lead to a lot of regrets. In honor of two mega influencers who are my connections and who were on the popular podcast Diary of a CEO: I will like to reference the example of a sports car 🏎️ stuck in a garage. Some people are like sports cars begging to be let out of a garage. As soon as someone gives them a chance, their potential is revealed. Same goes for hard working people who have potential to go very far! You will not regret paying someone what they are worth.
