21 Days of Doing One Thing for Racial Equity
Network for Dismantling Racism Invites You to 21-day Challenge
Dear friends and siblings in Christ,

The recent killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor have only highlighted the immediacy and need of doing the work of racial justice. The racial inequity that divides us is a part of our history as a people that we cannot hide from, and to ignore is to go against the will of Christ which is “to unite all things in him” (Ephesians 1:10). Some of you may be wondering where to begin in conversations about racial justice and antiracism. With so many resources available, and coming at us from all directions, we hope you will join us in the coming month for a special learning opportunity.

As you may already know, there is a new network forming in Synod of the Sun, the Network for Dismantling Racism. One of the focus areas of the Network for Dismantling Racism is education and learning together. Beginning on July 1, you are invited to participate in the 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge. This challenge involves doing one thing that has to do with racial equity (watching a video, reading an article, listening to a podcast, etc.) every day for 21 days. This invitation is for a learning challenge, a time for us to learn from the stories of our Black siblings and to grow together as a community of faith. Will you join us?

There are many different options for participating in the Challenge. You can use this guided 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge , provided by the PC(USA). Or you can “choose your own adventure,” using the original Challenge developed by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr. or this one that was adapted by Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina and choosing a different option each day. However you choose to participate, we hope you will continue this journey with us beyond 21 days, as this Challenge is the humble beginning of the work we need to do.

May the peace of Christ fill your heart as we learn together.
