For so many of us, this challenging year of distance and hybrid learning, no playdates, and exhausted parents means more screen time for our kids. In this webinar, education and children’s media advisor (and exhausted parent) Janella Watson will share what she’s learned from her work with media giants Sesame Workshop, Nickelodeon and PBS and edtech startups MathTalk and Nucleus Games. From TV and streaming shows to apps and games on our tablets, gain insight into how to spot quality children's media, use it as springboard for active, engaged, creative learning and play,  spark connection and social and emotional learning, and make the most of the inevitable leaning on screens we are all engaged in right now.

Registered participants will receive a Zoom link the day of the event.

The BKLYN Early Childhood Educator Series is a series of professional development workshops designed and curated for early childhood educators and librarians working with young children in diverse schools, early childhood settings, institutions, and libraries, offered for free through Brooklyn Public Library. Brooklyn Public Library workshops for educators qualify towards the New York State Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credit 100 hour requirement.

The BKLYN Early Childhood Educator Series is supported in part by generous funding from the NY City Council through the City's First Readers Initiative.
