The Dallas Morning News has added another podcast to its audio team.
SportsDay Cowboys, co-hosted by SportsDay beat writers Michael Gehlken and Calvin Watkins, makes its debut Thursday morning.
Each Thursday, SportsDay Cowboys will take you behind the scenes with interviews, expert analysis, debate and real talk about the Cowboys. SportsDay’s David Moore will be a frequent contributor, as will columnists Tim Cowlishaw and Kevin Sherrington.
One of the unique features of this podcast is the chemistry that has developed between Watkins and Gehlken. In the first episode, the two discuss the Week 1 matchup between Dallas and Tampa Bay and interview rookie left tackle Tyler Smith and quarterback Dak Prescott.
The goal of SportsDay Cowboys is to give players a voice, so hearing directly from them will be paramount to ensuring listeners understand what’s happening on and off the field each week.
Another feature of the show is a debate segment called “I Disagree,” where the two veteran beat reporters offer differing opinions on a single subject.
