Stoppa troféjakten på lodjur i Sverige!

Lodjuret, Sveriges enda vilda kattdjur, detta skygga magiskt vackra djur är klassat som fridlyst och rödlistat men ska ändå jagas med början 1 mars. Mitt under deras brunstperiod dessutom, något som inte heller är tillåten enligt Art och Habitatdirektivet för EU-länder.

Grym och oetisk jakt

Jakten är grym, skarpa jakthundar jagar upp lodjuret i ett träd där jägaren enkelt kan skjuta det. Ofta blir föräldralösa ungar kvar, som hade behövt lära sig mer av sin mamma för att klara sig själv.

Jakt på populärt djur

Få har sett ett vilt lodjur, eftersom de är extremt skygga, men deras skönhet är en upplevelse för livet för de lyckliga som får chansen. Lodjuret är Sveriges populäraste rovdjur enligt SLUs undersökning, och en stor majoritet vill ha lodjur i sin närhet.

Hjälp oss att stoppa jakten på vår vackra vildkatt i framtiden och skriv under uppropet! Även om årets jakt redan har börjat så är era röster en viktig signal om att detta inte borde få förekomma i Sverige.

Med er hjälp kan vi stoppa detta för framtiden. När lodjursjakten är över, dvs efter 15 april, kommer listan lämnas över till till Naturvårdsverket, svenska regeringen och EU-kommisionen.

Stop the Trophy Hunting of Lynx in Sweden!

Sweden is perceived as an environmentally friendly country at the forefront of the climate movement. Despite that, Sweden is systematically hunting strictly protected and endangered wild animals to the brink of extinction. This year started with the largest wolf hunt in history, and now it is time for the lynx. Sweden’s only wild cat that does little to no damage to livestock is now being hunted purely for sport. The lynx hunt is not only unnecessary and cruel, it also affects the longevity of the species in the Nordic countries. 

Unethical hunt

The trophy hunt starts in the beginning of March. Right in the middle of the lynx's short mating season, which is a clear breach of the EU Habitats Directive. The hunting practice is also extremely unethical. Hunters use dogs to pursue and cause enough stress to chase the lynx up a tree, where it is an easy target for the hunter's rifle. Lynx kits that are still growing are often left to fend for themselves when their mother has been shot. 

Popular carnivore

Few are lucky enough to see lynx in the wild, and witnessing their beauty is an experience of a lifetime. The lynx is Sweden’s most popular carnivore according to the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. A majority of the population also believe that the lynx should have a place in Swedish nature. So why is this environmentally hostile and highly unethical practice still allowed?
