Episode 2: Adventures in AI with Phil Torr

In this episode, I interview Phil Torr, a Professor at the University of Oxford. Phil is a world-class AI expert whose pioneering research in computer vision and deep learning has been recognised with numerous awards including the esteemed Marr Prize. Phil’s career has involved working in at Microsoft as well as leading academic institutions through to founding and advising companies and startups such as Oxsight, Aistetic and FIVE.AI. 

We cover the story of computer vision, and the rise of deep learning. We talk about Phil’s passion for neural networks, the importance of mentors and how Phil’s early trail blazing research actually set fire to GPUs. I hope you enjoy the show.
