Ramaswamy joins TikTok and promptly cursed

CINCINNATI – Republican presidential hopeful, Vivek Ramaswamy, joined the TikTok platform and was immediately cursed by TikTok Witches.

Vivek Ramaswamy is an American, entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist of Indian descent.  His parents are a General Electric engineer and a Merck/Schering-Plough geriatric psychiatrist. He was born on August 9, 1985, in Cincinnati and presents himself as a millennial running for president.

Ramaswamy’s net worth is over $600 million.  He gained business prominence for his success in the biotechnology industry. He is the founder of Roivant Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company that focuses on accelerating the development and commercialization of drugs to address unmet medical needs. The company operates a unique business model in which it acquires abandoned or de-prioritized drug candidates from other pharmaceutical companies and develops them further, hoping to bring new treatments to market. Roivant Sciences has raised significant funding and has been involved in multiple partnerships and collaborations within the pharmaceutical industry.

Ramaswamy considers himself the “godfather of the anti-woke movement.”  He authored “Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America’s Social Justice Scam,” in which he criticizes the increasing trend of corporate activism and discusses his views on capitalism, free markets, and social issues. He argues the Department of Education “has no reason to exist.”

He has also been politically vocal in the culture wars, presenting an anti-politically correct opinion on issues ranging from civil rights to waging an economic war.  As for his political aspirations as US president, Ramaswamy wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, “ “I’m launching not only a political campaign but a cultural movement to create a new American Dream — one that is not only about money but about the unapologetic pursuit of excellence.”  He has also written public letters to companies such as Apple and Siney demanding they immediately halt all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

“I’m in this to be the next president of the United States and I’m running on a vision for our country that I’ve developed over the last three years,” he said during an appearance on Fox News. “(Trump) was the OG of America First. I’m taking that to the next level with America First 2.0,” said Ramaswamy on his first appearance on Fox News.

His 10 truths which he told The Atlantic are “God is real. There are two genders. Human flourishing requires fossil fuels. Reverse racism is racism. An open border is no border. Parents determine the education of their children. The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind. Capitalism lifts people up from poverty. There are three branches of the U.S. government, not four. The U.S. Constitution is the strongest guarantor of freedoms in history.”

Let’s move on to the cursing.

Ramaswamy joined TikTok on September 14.  Swiftly, @witchycannamom, shared the first video posted by the presidential candidate editing it with her own.  “Let me be the first to welcome you to WitchTok,” she wrote.

The video she posted (and does not appear to be available any longer so we linked the cursing of Ron DeSantis) includes Vivek Ramaswamy’s name three times followed by her filling a lemon with a series of magical components.

Eye of newt, to bring strife

Knotweed for binding

Locust thorns for pain and suffering

Poison hemlock for sadness.

A tooth for sickness and pain

A wasp nest for sickness and pain

A spider to “weave a web of nightmares.

@witchycannamom adds graveyard dirt for death and red wax for heat, a shard of glass foto reflect bad energy, and Blood Moon death oil.

Then offers the eternal Witch blessing, “Have the day you deserve.” Commentators joined win with “I’m over here cheering at every addition,” and “Buddy is not going to be having a good time very soon.”

The video has now been viewed over 300,000 times with numerous “so mote it be” comments as well as promises from commentators to conduct spells of their own.   Among other recent spell targets have been Governor Ron DeSantis, Hunter Biden, Elon Musk, and, former President Donald Trump.

The evangelical site that goes by the unrelated name movieguide, explained that “the occult is especially dangerous because it often seems innocent” and noted that the spiritual dangers of looking at WitchTok are the same as with other social media, leading “people away from God, and the widespread celebration of occultism on various platforms has only made this more true.”

They found “This disturbing response to the presidential candidate joining the social media platform highlights the troubling growth of witchcraft and occultism throughout society.”

“From ghost obsessions in major movies to seances in streaming shows to #WitchTok on social media, a disturbing new trend shows the occult is gaining popularity in mainstream media,” they added.

TikTok has not mentioned if cursing goes against its terms of service. The community guidelines state: “We do not allow any violent threats, incitement to violence, or promotion of criminal activities that may harm people, animals, or property.”
