Pupils from across Norfolk are invited to take part in Get Funky, playing alongside the Brass Funkeys!

This year we are partnering with Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, Charanga, Big Sky Creative and The Brass Funkeys to bring the sounds and colours of New Orleans to the Grand Ring at the Royal Norfolk Show 2024

We have selected a fantastic arrangement of tunes which will be hosted on Charanga enabling you to join the Brass Funkeys live in the Grand Ring. Whether you are just starting or an advanced player we have everything you need to get started!

When are the resources available?

  • Resources will be available from Monday 22nd April 2024

What will happen on the day?

  • On the day you will meet your designated Norfolk Music Hub representative at one of the two gates on the north side of the grand ring. Here you will register and then be guided into the Grand Ring for the performance. The performance will last approximately 30 minutes which will give you enough time to enjoy all that the Royal Norfolk Show has to offer

The Brass Funkeys

The Brass Funkeys are a trailblazer in the new generation of UK Brass Bands. Formed in 2011, this 9 piece collective has a unique sound forged from their strong personalities and eclectic individual tastes whilst still paying homage to their New Orleans Brass Band Roots. The Brass Funkeys have honed their skill over 10 years playing the club and festival circuits in the UK and Europe, always exploring new musical directions while reefing their exciting eclectic and energetic live show bursting at the seams with ideas and infectious energy

The Brass Funkeys frequently appear on festival main stages (Glastonbury, Boomtown, Wilderness, Lost Village, Love Supreme, North Sea Jazz Festival) as well as performing at world renowned venues (Ronnie Scott’s, Koko, Cambridge Corn Exchange)
