FAQs
What is an e-ARC?
- ARC is an industry term for Advance Reader Copy, meaning an uncorrected proof of the book about to be released. This also means that while the story itself will be what the final version of the book will look like, the ARC will often include typos or other grammatical errors as this version of the book has not been sent to the copyeditor or proofreader yet. The ARC, or galley, is used for early reviews and buzz of the book prior to release. An e-ARC or digital ARC is the ebook version, meaning the PDF or EPUB version of the ARC.
Why are there no physical ARCs available for this program?
- As a small press, e-ARCs enable us to offer more copies to more influencers and bloggers.
Do you offer alternatives for readers who are visually impaired or have difficulties reading off of e-readers?
- Yes, please contact us at staff [at] camcatpublishing.com to speak with us about alternatives.
How will I know if I've been selected to receive an e-ARC?
- We will notify you via the email you listed on your form within two weeks of submission if you've been selected, along with the BookSirens link to download. If you don't hear from us after that point, we invite you to reapply for the next season of e-ARC offerings.
I've received my e-ARC copy via BookSirens. Now what?
- We're so excited to hear what you think of the book, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. We do not require that you have to post about a book that you receive, but if you decide to do so, thank you so much! As a small press, it means a lot to see someone showing off one of our books. We ask that you tag us on social media (@camcat_books on Instagram, @camcatbooks elsewhere) and note that you were provided a free copy by CamCat Books.
I loved the book I received and want to do more to promote it. What do I do?
- Contact us at staff [at] camcatpublishing.com, and we will check with the marketing team to see what kind of promotion we can work with you on which may include: a giveaway on your social media account, a Q&A with the author, or an author event, etc.
