JOIN US LIVE TONIGHT Wellness and Moral Distress Management: Connect and Share Brought to You by the APSA Ethics and Wellness Committees
Tune in for a LIVE APSAsode
TODAY, 7:00 PM ET
As pediatric surgeons, we have all experienced challenging cases and intraoperative complications. For many, the issue of when and how to ask for help is anything but straightforward.
Please join us for a “Connect and Share”APSAsode. This LIVE discussion will be facilitated by the APSA Ethics and Wellness Committees. We will look forward to audience participation as we explore the challenges we all face after an operative complication, including:
How to recognize when we may not be fit to operate
How and when to ask for help
Whether we should continue with subsequent cases and professional obligations after a significant complication
How to support colleagues who have experienced a complication.
We’ll explore how we balance the ethical tension between maintaining our fiduciary responsibility to care for patients with our own health and wellness, as well as how we can work toward developing a culture that supports our colleagues and builds safety nets within our practice.
We look forward to discussing these issues together as we work toward cultivating self-awareness and renewal in ourselves.
If you or someone you know is need of support, we invite you to explore APSA’s resources
