I was recently invited by Grazia to create an illustration as part of the Cartier Icons Work of Art Collection advertorial. The illustration features three different versions of the iconic Tank Watch, part of a singular collection of watchmaking creations that represent Cartier's culture of design.
Created in 1917 by Louis Cartier, the Tank Watch is well known for the purity of its lines that create a unique shape: the two parallel brancards are its signature, inspired by the design of a combat vehicle viewed from above. Cartier's Tank is a shining example of military precision.
Following the art director's instructions, I have incorporated in my illustration three different kinds of Tank Watches, in order to create a dynamic composition, as for the background I used some shades of red, in order to recall the distinctive tones of the brand.
