Ages 8 weeks to 5 years can have fun and learn in a park-like setting near downtown Fairfax, Virginia, and even have mom or dad join for some planned family activities. Since 1983, A Child’s Place has been committed to child care and education with very little staff turnover.

The Waldorf private education model is at work at this kindergarten and nursery in Silver Spring. Join in for Parent and Toddler outdoor classes for children 18 to 30 months at Acorn Hill beginning this fall. The nursery program begins at age 3, featuring free play and enrichment activities primarily outdoors, fostering natural gifts through imitation, fantasy, and invention.

Learning through play is the technique used at Gymboree Play & Music in Washington, D.C. Children between birth and 5 years receive age-appropriate classes including their own exploration and family play and music time.

As a new mom, it’s never too early to begin noticing your child’s potential. The Feynman School in Potomac will be ready to provide a stimulating and encouraging environment for your child by age 4. This school for gifted learners also includes ample unstructured play time.

Foundations of learning can begin with infants. Age-appropriate curriculum that develops social emotional skills and encourages parents to reinforce skills in the classroom and at home begins at 3 months at Friendship Children’s Center, in D.C.
