Another arrest made in death of 5-year-old, Dallas police say

Ulysses Kizzee, 74, faces a felony charge of injury to a child by omission.

Police have arrested a second person in the killing of a 5-year-old boy who was found dead in a South Dallas home Monday.

Ulysses Kizzee, 74, faces a felony charge of injury to a child by omission. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.

Earlier this week, the child’s mother, Tiffany Williams, was arrested on a charge of injury to a child. According to Williams’ arrest-warrant affidavit, she admitted to beating the child on a “daily basis.”

Police were dispatched just before 11:30 a.m. Monday to a home in the 2800 block of Silkwood Street, in the Bonton neighborhood. Police and paramedics found a dead 5-year-old boy, identified in an affidavit as Zamaurian Kizzee, with signs of trauma to his body.

Williams said she called a relative about 10:30 a.m. Monday and told him the child was dead, police wrote in the affidavit. The relative went to Williams’ home, where he found the dead child with injuries to his head, face and back.

Williams told police she beat the child multiple times, including punching him in the temple and abdomen Sunday, police allege in the affidavit. She also said she struck him in the back and the face with an extension cord multiple times, causing severe injuries, according to police.

Five other children in the home — ages 7, 6, 3, 1 and 3 months — were put into foster care, according to a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. They said the agency had previous involvement with the child’s family.
