Lungs & Airways

Have you or a loved one taken part in rehabilitation for lung disease? We would like your feedback on a Cochrane Review!

Skills / interests: Consumer (public, patient, carer) input

This Cochrane Review aimed to find out the factors that make it easier or harder for people with chronic obstructive lung disease (also known as COPD, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema) to get a referral to, then attend and complete, a pulmonary rehabilitation programme. To answer this question, the Review looked specifically at available evidence on the views and experience of people with COPD, their family members, and health professionals regarding getting a referral to, joining, or attending a pulmonary rehabilitation programme.

Cochrane considers a consumer, in this case, to be someone who has had COPD and taken part in a rehabilitation programme, or someone who knows a family member/friend with COPD and experience of participating in a rehabilitation programme. For consumer peer review, we will ask you to complete a short form with your feedback to ensure the review is accessible and relevant so that it will be helpful to patients and their carers/families for decision-making. You are welcome to provide feedback on any aspect of the review, or you can focus your attention on the sections you feel are most relevant to consumers and stakeholders, such as Abstract, Plain Language Summary, and Conclusions. Our aim is for this to be a manageable task, that does not overburden consumer reviewers.

Thank you in advance for considering!
