Pastors and their spouses need to be encouraged! The focus
of this retreat is to offer a time away where a pastor, and if possible, their spouse can receive
direct encouragement for their hearts, their relationship with Christ, their marriage, and their
ministry.
The teaching portion of the retreat will focus on Heb. 10:22-25 “Let us draw near to
God… Let us hold unswervingly to the hope… And let us consider how we may spur one
another… encouraging one another…” (NIV)
The small group portion of the retreat will focus on how to address stress and prevent burnout in the ministry.
The individual or couple sessions will provide a biblical counseling check up to help the pastor (and spouse) to work through any problems or potential problems they may be facing.

About Dr. James Meyer
Dr. James Meyer Pastor, Speaker, Counselor
Pastor Jim grew up in Japan where his parents were missionaries with a ministry called Hi. B. A. (High-School Born Againers). In 1996 Pastor Jim started the Pocono Evangelical Free Church in Tannersville, PA and served in the Counseling Dept. at Cairn University from 1996 - 2019.
He also offers biblical counseling, discipleship, consulting, and coaching to pastors and missionaries through a ministry called Biblical Counseling Resources (BCR). BCR is a ministry of Pocono Evangelical Free Church.
Pastor Jim is ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and has been serving continuously with the EFCA since 1984. He resides near Martins Creek, PA with his wife Kathy. They enjoy canoeing on the Delaware River, hiking and being grandparents.
