This is the last game of the world chess championship match. Nepo had to win it to stay in the match, even though his chances would be really microscopic. He choose a weird strategy for the game - avoided 4.Ng5 when given the chance, got an equal position, and then, realizing that a draw is inevitable, decided to commit suicide and let the match immediately. The move 23.g3 epitomizes the entire match - a complete disaster in psychological preparation.
