Palm Beach Judge Suspended, Reprimanded for Court Absences

A Palm Beach County, Fla., judge agreed to be disciplined for missing too much work time and often not notifying anyone of absences.

Judge Marni Bryson will be publicly reprimanded and suspended for 10 days without pay “because she acted inappropriately by failing to devote full time to her judicial duties,” the Florida Supreme Court said Nov. 24. She also was fined $37,500.

The court approved the stipulation entered into by Bryson and the state judicial qualifications commission. The stipulation said that at times over several years, Bryson wasn’t at court for a full day; she was absent “in excess ...
