"Presentation Skills Development Certificate Mini-Course"

How it works:

This presentation skills mini course is designed to provide select NYACP Resident and Fellow members with tangible tools to improve their presentation skills in various formats by utilizing mixed models of teaching.

  • Residents are invited to submit their presentation using the following guidelines.
  • 25 NYACP Resident and Fellow members will be invited to the mini course to present their work on Saturday, May 11th at SUNY Upstate University in Syracuse, NY*
  • Presenters will be divided into 5 groups for presentations and grading by judges.
  • One-hour hands-on didactic session on how to make effective presentations.
  • Small groups return and feedback is provided to presenters.
  • Certificates awarded and a networking reception with Residents/ Fellows, Transitional Members and Early Career Physicians will conclude the program.

Please note:

  • Exact room and parking instructions will be provided in the acceptance email.
  • Participation can be included on CV as a scholarly activity.
  • This is a separate competition from the NYACP poster competition on Oct. 26th (Details found here).

Doctors Across New York (DANY)

The Department of Health is pleased to announce that the Doctors Across New York (DANY) Physician Loan Repayment and Physician Practice Support Programs – Cycle 10 – is now posted and open for applications.

At this time if you have a question about this Cycle, please send it to DANY2018@health.ny.gov  by March 28th, 2024.   The Department cannot respond to you individually, but we will address all inquiries in our Question & Answer document which will be posted on our about April 11, 2024.

Abstract Competitions

NYACP sponsors local abstract competitions that offer you an opportunity to compete with your peers from across New York State.  You have the chance to collaborate with your program director, discuss your research or clinical experience and formally write an abstract for professional review. You can also include your submission on your CV as scholarly activity.
