The Walking Dead has paid tribute to one of its recurring cast members, Moses J Moseley, following the actor's sad and sudden death.

Moseley, who played a 'pet' zombie on the long-running apocalyptic drama, passed away at the age of 31 in Stockbridge, Georgia last week, according to reports.

Paying their respects to a member of their "Walking Dead family", the official Twitter account for the series shared a photo of Moses and wrote: "Our thoughts and prayers are with our #TWDFamily member Moses J Moseley."

Moseley's death was confirmed by his representation in a heartfelt Facebook post. "With a heavy heart, we at Avery Sisters Entertainment offer our sincerest and deepest condolences to the family and friends of our actor, Moses J Moseley," a statement read.

"He was an AMAZING person!" the statement continued. "For those who knew him, he was the kindest, sweetest, most generous person you would ever meet.

"We will miss him dearly! Rest in Heaven, where your LIGHT will shine brightly forever!"

An investigation into the actor's death is currently underway, Variety is reporting.
