PraxisEins closes seven-figure seed funding to relieve GPs through digital solutions and process optimisation

January 11, 2023

Frankfurt am Main, 11 January 2023 – Health tech start-up PraxisEins raises a mid-seven-figure sum in a seed financing round. Alongside the seed investor High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), family offices and business angels from the healthcare scene are also investing – with doctors being part of the investor mix. The Frankfurt-based start-up facilitates the entry of young doctors into outpatient care and thus addresses the looming shortage of GPs. With the new capital, the start-up wants to further develop its software solution and welcome new practices into its supported network.

Looming shortage – more than 35% of GPs are older than 60

By 2035, there will be a shortage of around 11,000 GPs in Germany. On the one hand, the retirement of the baby boomer generation is imminent, on the other hand, GP care is hardly attractive for the young generation of doctors. The high administrative burden and the poor work-life balance have a deterrent effect and keep GPs from concentrating on their core competence – patient care.

Digital solutions and process optimisation to reduce the workload

PraxisEins has therefore set itself the goal of supporting GP practices in digitalisation, process management, recruitment, and operational management, thus actively relieving the medical staff.

Germany is facing a major challenge in outpatient care. A large proportion of doctors working in outpatient care will retire in the next five years, creating a care vacuum. PraxisEins helps to solve this problem by making it easier for young doctors to enter outpatient care. In doing so, we offer the entire spectrum of working models in our growing network of GP practices – from flexible part-time positions to joint practices. However, one thing is always clear: doctors can concentrate on their core competencies in the practices we support.

Medical integrity is at the core

In addition to High-Tech Gründerfonds, PraxisEins is also financed by German entrepreneurial families and doctors.

From the very beginning, it was important to us to put medical integrity at the core of what we do. To ensure this, the participation and involvement of doctors at PraxisEins is vital to us.

Benjamin Langer, founder of PraxisEins

We see enormous potential in PraxisEins to fundamentally improve patient care through technology and more efficient processes. We look forward to supporting the great team on their journey in the years to come!

Focus of expansion in Rhine/Main and Rhine/Ruhr area

With the funds from the financing round, the start-up wants to further develop its software solution and add new practices to its supported network. To this end, PraxisEins is opening a centrally located office in Frankfurt and expanding its core team in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.

About PraxisEins
PraxisEins is a health tech start-up founded in 2022 with the aim of solving the looming care vacuum in the GP sector across Germany. Because GP care is hardly attractive for the young generation of doctors, more and more practice positions remain unfilled. Above all, the high administrative burden and the lack of compatibility between work and family life act as a deterrent and keep GPs from concentrating on patient care. To solve this problem, PraxisEins supports practices with software and process know-how. In doing so, the team helps with process management, recruitment, and operational management, thus actively relieving the medical staff.
