Tireless idealist | There’s always a way to get where you want to go

We’re 4 months into one of the most progressive pieces of work I’ve ever led. It will likely change my approach to marketing forever. We've reflected on what we’ve learned so far and I’m sharing my honest and personal view of this here. Our programme goals are to be more visible to clients and future recruits, increase our trusted advisor status, and to engage our employees with a shared view of purpose. It’s a long read, so if you’re time poor like me then here’s my personal pick of the top 3: 1. This is the fastest way to get a conversation going with someone new. 2. Intellectual acceptance of a concept is not enough to create long lasting change. 3. Regular employees are considered the most trusted source of information about your company. #SocialOrganisation #TelstraPurple #AlwaysLearning

Great post. Especially the point about intellectual acceptance of the concept not being enough. People in the organisation need to be emotionally connected with the workplace and its culture. And programs need to be made to facilitate this.

Catherine Coale great post and love the openness and work you are doing!! If you can what one thing have you stopped doing as a result of your experience, and as a result one thing you’ve started to do? I ask you because I’ve had it asked of me and it really does exercise the mind on the answer!

Great article Catherine, having had a small involvement lately the thing that I’m most impressed with is the creativity of your colleagues and the creative, well considered content they have started to post in such a short time. In the learning sphere it is said that 70% of learning is through doing and TP has some great examples of that!

Great share Catherine. Your vision and leadership of this project is simply outstanding and this is, as far as I am aware, the only instance of an organisation making "socialising" a key strategy anywhere as opposed to simply a tactic or two. As the results continue to gather pace your (and the leadership team's) faith will be increasingly rewarded.
