Minister said the Government was moving closer to its own targets on spending limits

Finance Minister Michael McGrath has opened the door to an even bigger Budget package in October, saying there’s scope for ‘one-offs’ in addition to €6.4bn of new spending and tax cuts already on the table.

That figure does not include one-off cost-of-living measures, which “may change” as budget talks heat up and new inflation forecasts come out, Mr McGrath said yesterday.
