  1. Darker than my usual fare, but I’m strangely tempted! Noir often works better for me in short stories than novels, and the tiles of the stories are appealing, with touches of that wit and the musical references you mentioned. Hmm…

    1. You know, you make an interesting point, FictionFan, about noir. I’d have to reflect, but I suspect I may like it better in smaller forms (like novellas or short stories), too. Hmmm…. interesting! Brazill’s work is dark, and his characters are very often not nice people at all. But I think that goes with the neon-lit landscape, if I can put it that way. If you do try some of his stories, I hope you’ll like them.
