OMEN Gaming Hub Escalation of Privilege and Denial of Service for Certain OMEN PCs

Potential security vulnerabilities have been identified in an OMEN Gaming Hub SDK package which may allow escalation of privilege and/or denial of service. HP is releasing software updates to mitigate the potential vulnerabilities.

Resolution

HP has identified affected platforms and corresponding SoftPaqs with minimum versions that mitigate the potential vulnerability. See the affected platforms listed below.

OMEN Gaming Hub version 11.6.3.0 or later will automatically remove the affected component from SDK package installations.

Alternatively, OMEN Gaming Hub SDK Package 1.0.44 has been released for the affected products.

  • Automatic updates are available for customers that allow HP Support Assistant to perform automatic updates.

  • Manual updates can be performed via HP Support Assistant or by downloading and installing the identified SoftPaq for OMEN Gaming HUB SDK Package 1.0.44 or higher.

Newer versions may become available and the minimum versions listed below may become obsolete.  If a SoftPaq Link becomes invalid, check the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads site to obtain the latest update for your product model.

HP recommends keeping your system up to date with the latest firmware and software.
