Here in the United States, this past labor day weekend was full of last-minute expeditions to the beach, coolers filled with beer, and a general satisfaction over not having to think about work. However, while America was on vacation, IFA 2022 was in full swing in Berlin and companies utilized the stage provided by the largest consumer technology show in Europe to drop a slew of new products.

Samsung, one of the largest vendors at the show with its own building next to the event’s South entrance, released the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the buildup to the show. At the show, it showed off these new devices and the updated features in its SmartThings software, which allows users to control all of their connected devices via a mobile app.

Samsung wasn’t the only company at IFA to double down on foldable screens. Asus, the Taiwan-based computer manufacturer, just released the Zenbook 17 Fold which features an OLED screen. As the name suggests, the device features a 17.3” foldable touchscreen and is powered by a 12th-generation Intel core processor.

In non-IFA-related product releases, Mission has announced the release of the re-engineered Mission 700, which was initially launched back in 1980. Capitalizing on the nostalgia of the iconic brand, Mission has completely redone the interior of the speakers while maintaining its classic exterior. On the revamped speakers, Peter Comeau, Mission’s Director of Acoustic Design said in the company’s press release: “The new Mission 700 expands upon the sonic transparency and sense of musical engagement that made the original one of the most successful and fondly remembered speakers of the 1980s.”
