US FlagUS/Silver Spring: New Seasons Market LLC, a Lynnwood, Washington establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Matiz Valencia Salted Almond Nuts from the American marketplace due to suspected mispackaging and/or mislabeling with consequential undeclared Peanuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Salted Almond Nuts are subject to this recall:

  • New Seasons Market Matiz Valencia Almonds, packaged in round plastic tubs with an orange and black top-label and a batch/lot of 207433 and best-by dates ranging from May 31, 2022 to July 3, 2022

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Salted Almond Nuts can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Salted Almond Nuts were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from New Seasons Market stores in the US states of Oregon and Washington, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, New Seasons Market has recalled certain batch/lots of Matiz Valencia Salted Almond Nuts from the American marketplace due to suspected mispackaging and/or mislabeling with consequential undeclared Peanuts. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Almond Nuts identified above.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that Peanuts had been found in packages of Matiz Valencia Salted Almond Nuts and these food products had been distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of Peanuts.

Please note: while these Matiz Valencia Salted Almond Nuts may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your pantries, freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products during the time period ranging from March 1, 2022 and May 6, 2022, please check your cupboards, refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Matiz Valencia Salted Almond Nuts and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
