Question from the client base #8: "My content reach is going down and I’m not getting as much engagement as I did before, what should I do…?" A great question... What you don’t want to do is......blame ‘the algorithm’. Why?  You don’t have a clue about the algorithm, nobody does.  When we blame the algorithm for something going wrong in our Social Media strategy it transfers all responsibility for the issue to something out with your control and absolves you of any action to be taken. So you just sit and wait for it to sort itself right?.....wrong! Common things you will hear in response… 👉 ” There is definitely something going on…” There is always something going on, always...!  On every platform every minute of the day billions of bites of data are being indexed, sorted, observed, processed, and analysed, and changes are being made....all the time. 👉 “It’s not you it’s the algorithm…” There very well be some slowing down due to restructuring or recoding but, always assume that it’s probably you… In general terms, if there is a drop off in your reach and/or engagement its generally down to a few simple things. 👉You’ve done something out with the rules. 👉You’ve annoyed the platform by doing something or your lack of doing something 👉You’ve lost your audience If something is going wrong with your Social Media plan....look in the mirror first. In this article we look deeper into this topic and offer a solid solution based on data, experience and results. This is a great article Eric we all have engagement lulls and looking at ourselves is the key to understanding what we need to change….. you don’t get different results by doing the same thing!

Love this content Eric Doyle (F.ISP) And some really good points you make in the article. I love the point you make about not blaming the algorithm. I think it's something we can all fall in the trap of.Ive noticed my engagement have gone down buy I know its partly ro do with me not being around due to circumstances. I just have to build it up again .🙂❤❤🦉🦉

Great article, Eric Doyle (F.ISP)! In the coming months, I'll be talking to potential investors about why investing in people to generate revenue is better than investing in artificial intelligence to create shortcuts. In the long run, it's best to align with platform objectives and develop the muscles that help us to create. Creating is one of the most valuable activities we can engage in. When you create content that resonates with your audience, you learn a little bit more about them. When it bombs, you learn even more.

Fascinating post as per. Thanks Eric Doyle (F.ISP) … and an option I didn’t see in your article; but may apply with my own numbers drop - you’re caffeinated marmite , thor … expect a drop in numbers as many can’t handle that spread in their daily bread 😉. Eg todays breakfast offering from me was Rishi Sunak in leather briefs…

I've seen this issue with all of my social media. For a while all of my jobs were coming from social but now I'm the quietest I've been since launching my business almost exactly a year ago. I did consider the algorithm but I believe its more to do with becoming a victim of my own success. I got so busy with work that I didn't have the time to post or engage with my following as much as I did previously. Now I'm trying to play catch up and it feels like an impossible task as the work's just not coming in anymore! Time to quit and look for a job? Possibly, but I'll remain persistant for the time being as I genuinely believe that the service I offer is far superior to that of a lot of companies providing a similar service. If I get through this drought I'll be taking it as a VERY valuable lesson to stay connected. Even if it means losing another hour sleep every night. 🤷♂️

The algorithm doesn’t know what the algorithm is meant to do either. Best stick to sound advice from those who know.

Great article mate, it starts with us. We have the power to change our outcomes. We can blame everything we can't control. Or we can take ownership of what we can and change it.
