Apply to participate in "No Time Like the Presentation"
Submit a 90 second video abstract of your work. This abstract should be you talking, in front of slides or not, doesn't matter.
The goal of this exercise is to communicate all the complexity of your work that you'd present at a conference, but be able to be understood by members of the public. We know this is hard. That's why it's fun!
The 10 abstracts that accomplish this goal the best will be chosen for a 10 minute talk, which will be presented on May 12 and live-streamed to the public. After each talk, presenters will get 3 "rapid fire" questions from the audience, verbalized to you by a moderator. Scientists will have 30 seconds per question to answer those questions.
Skype a Scientist has controls in place so that abuse is not seen publicly, so you don't need to be concerned about online abuse during the livestream.
Scientists chosen will have the option to receive feedback from scientists on a chosen panel, or just do it for fun.
Abstracts are due April 17th at 5pm PST
We will inform participants if they are selected on April 24.
