Hello Members

We find ourselves in extremely turbulent times, the like of which we have never seen before.

I encourage our members to stay in touch via the ABPCO Forum where you can support each other and share and answer the varied questions that you may have as they arise within your businesses.  Please be kind - we are a community, and we want to uphold our strong #belonging value.

Please note that you will automatically be emailed the first posting in any thread, but will only be emailed further responses if you have commented/contributed to that thread.  You can always log-in and see the conversation if you prefer to not contribute.

We are posting daily updates on there from the Government, and other resources if we believe that they are relevant. We are also posting about conference calls that we are trialling to ensure that we can all keep in touch.

Eventwell are supporting event professionals and signposting them to resources that we hope will help as individuals struggle to cope with extreme constant challenges.

It is the kindness and support that we give to each other that will help us get through these unprecedented times.

If you do have a few minutes to complete the ABPCO engagement survey http://www.cvent.com/d/rnq02c before the end of the month we would appreciate it.  We still want to make our plans for when we are through this.  We donate £5 per response to Meeting Needs the event industry charity.  Thanks to the 114 members who have taken the time to respond so far.

We look forward to finding our way back to a new normal in the not to distant future.

Best wishes

Heather

Manchester Central Roundtable

ABPCO members met to discuss the responsibility organisers face when planning events to ensure that they are delegate-centric, and the importance of the relationship between organiser, venue and destination. Conversations took place around;

  • The need for a delegate tool-kit linked from delegate apps to help with journey and destination planning
  • Delegates accommodation expectations
  • Social programmes and extended stays
  • The delegate journey & experience within the venue

The key take home from the discussions was that 'Together Everyone Achieves More' and that it is the people throughout the delegate journey that make the most impact. Accessibility, diversity, and other specific needs should be well communicated and supported by a one-team approach.
